Application of caustic soda in pesticide industry.

Pesticides

Pesticides refer to chemical agents used in agriculture to prevent and control plant diseases and insect pests and regulate plant growth. Widely used in agricultural, forestry and animal husbandry production, environmental and household sanitation, pest control and epidemic prevention, industrial product mildew and moth prevention, etc.

There are many varieties of pesticides, which can be divided into insecticides, acaricides, rodenticides, nematicides, molluscicides, fungicides, herbicides, plant growth regulators, etc. according to their uses; they can be divided into minerals according to the source of raw materials. Source pesticides (inorganic pesticides), biological source pesticides (natural organic matter, microorganisms, antibiotics, etc.) and chemically synthesized pesticides, etc.

01 Caustic soda as acid binding agent

Acidic substances will be produced during the organic reaction of pesticide production, and the product acid will be removed from the reaction system through caustic soda neutralization reaction to promote the positive reaction. However, caustic soda has a wall-hanging phenomenon during use, which affects the dissolution rate.

Binhua granular sodium hydroxide uses a unique granulation system to transform caustic soda from flakes to granules, which increases the surface area, prevents the product from agglomerating, and provides a more stable alkaline reaction environment.

02 Caustic soda provides an alkaline reaction environment

The chemical reaction of pesticide preparation is not completed at one time, but there are several intermediate steps, some of which require alkaline conditions, which requires rapid dissolution of solid caustic soda to ensure uniform concentration of caustic soda in the system.

03Neutralization with caustic soda

Caustic soda is a strong base, and the ionized hydroxide ions (OH-) in the aqueous solution combine with the hydrogen ions (H+) ionized by the acid to form water (H2O), thus making the pH of the solution neutral.
