Applications
Aliphatic TPU outdoor film and sheet are used where optical clarity and long-term UV stability are required:
- Architectural laminates – clear TPU interlayers for glass or PC panels in façades and skylights.
- Outdoor glazing and windows – flexible clear layers for impact-resistant transparent panels.
- Flexible outdoor covers – transparent or translucent covers for equipment, signage and canopies.
- Protective outer layers – weatherable TPU top layers laminated with other functional films.

Typical Grades for Outdoor Film & Sheet
| Grade | Hardness | Key Performance | Processing | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TPU-ALP UV 85A Film | 85A | Flexible, clear, non-yellowing, good tear resistance | Flat-die extrusion | Thin outdoor films and flexible covers |
| TPU-ALP UV 90A Film | 90A | Higher stiffness, UV-stable, low haze | Flat-die extrusion / calendering | Architectural laminates, glazing films |
| TPU-ALP UV 95A Sheet | 95A | Thicker sheets, strong impact resistance, weatherable | Sheet extrusion | Outdoor clear sheets, protective panels |
| TPU-ALP UV Matte 90A | 90A | Matte surface, controlled gloss, UV stability | Flat-die extrusion | Anti-glare outdoor films and overlays |
Note: Grades and hardness ranges are indicative.
Final selection should consider film thickness, outdoor exposure conditions and laminate structure.
Key Advantages
- Non-yellowing aliphatic backbone for long-term clarity in sun-exposed applications.
- High transparency and low haze for glazing and architectural laminates.
- UV and weather resistance to maintain mechanical and optical properties over time.
- Impact and tear resistance superior to many conventional clear plastics and PVC films.
- Flexible bonding with glass, PC, PET and other substrates in multi-layer laminate structures.

Processing & Recommendations
These aliphatic TPU grades are designed for film and sheet production:
- Film extrusion: flat-die or cast film lines with recommended melt temperature 190–220 °C.
- Sheet extrusion: for thicker gauges; pay attention to cooling profile for low internal stress.
- Drying: 80 °C × 2–3 hours before extrusion to control moisture and optical defects.
- Surface treatment: corona or plasma treatment for improved adhesion in printing or lamination.
- Lamination: compatible with glass, PC and PET in multi-layer structures with proper process design.
