Polycaprolactone TPU Industrial Parts | Low-Temperature, Tough, Abrasion-Resistant
Polycaprolactone TPU Industrial Parts
Polycaprolactone-based TPU compounds for industrial parts such as wheels and rollers, gears, couplings and damping blocks.
They combine low-temperature toughness, high abrasion resistance and hydrolysis resistance, suitable for demanding motion and load-bearing applications.

Abrasion-Resistant
Load-Bearing
Hydrolysis-Resistant
Shore 85A–55D
Applications
PCL-TPU industrial grades are used where parts must handle load, impact and abrasion in variable temperature environments:
- Wheels and rollers for material handling, conveyors and small equipment.
- Drive and idler rollers with TPU coating for grip and wear resistance.
- Couplings and flexible joints that require elastic torque transfer.
- Damping blocks and pads for vibration reduction and shock absorption.
- Gears and timing elements needing quiet operation and impact resistance.

Typical Grades for Industrial Parts
| Grade | Hardness | Key Performance | Processing | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PCL-TPU Parts 90A | 90A | Flexible, tough, good impact resistance | Injection molding | Damping blocks, soft couplings, pads |
| PCL-TPU Parts 95A | 95A | Higher load-bearing, abrasion resistance | Injection / casting | Small wheels, rollers, impact pads |
| PCL-TPU Parts 45D | 45D | High stiffness, wear resistance, dimensional stability | Injection / machining from stock shapes | Drive rollers, gears, couplings |
| PCL-TPU Parts 55D | 55D | Very high hardness, compression set performance | Injection / casting | High-load wheels, heavy-duty rollers |
Note: Grades and hardness ranges are indicative. Custom formulations can be tuned for specific load, speed, temperature and contact conditions.
Key Advantages
- High abrasion resistance for rolling, sliding and impact contact.
- Low-temperature toughness to avoid cracking in cold environments.
- Elastic behavior for noise reduction and shock absorption compared to hard plastics.
- Hydrolysis resistance for humid and wash-down conditions.
- Good bonding compatibility for overmolding on metal hubs or cores.

Processing & Recommendations
PCL-TPU industrial grades can be processed with standard TPU equipment:
- Injection molding: typical melt temperature window 185–215 °C depending on hardness.
- Drying: 80 °C × 2–3 hours before processing to maintain consistent viscosity.
- Bonding to metal: design mechanical interlocks or primer systems for overmolded hubs.
- Finishing: machined tolerances or ground surfaces possible on higher-hardness grades.
