Polyether TPU Hose Grades | Hydrolysis-Resistant Pneumatic & Hydraulic Hose
Polyether TPU Hose Material
Polyether-based TPU compounds for pneumatic and hydraulic hoses, offering excellent hydrolysis resistance, kink resistance and abrasion performance.
Designed for flexible air and fluid lines working in humid, outdoor and wash-down environments.
Typical uses include pneumatic tool hoses, spiral air hoses, robot cable protection lines and medium-pressure water or cleaning hoses where long-term flexibility and durability are required.

Where These Hose Grades Are Used
Polyether TPU hose compounds are typically used in:
- Pneumatic tool hoses – flexible air lines for workshops, assembly lines and automation
- Spiral and recoil hoses – compact hoses that can bend and recover repeatedly without kinking
- Medium-pressure water and cleaning hoses – wash-down lines for food plants and equipment cleaning
- Robot and cable protection hoses – outer TPU hose working as flexible protective sleeve
Compared with PVC or rubber hoses, polyether TPU hoses provide better abrasion life, better flexibility at low temperature and significantly improved hydrolysis resistance, especially in humid and outdoor environments.

Typical Polyether TPU Hose Grades
| Grade | Hardness | Key Performance | Processing | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Polyether TPU Hose 85A | 85A | Soft flex, good kink resistance, clear transparency | Extrusion | Pneumatic tool hoses, recoil hoses |
| Polyether TPU Hose 90A | 90A | Balanced stiffness and flexibility, abrasion resistance | Extrusion | General pneumatic and water hoses |
| Polyether TPU Hose 40D | 40D | Higher pressure resistance, dimensional stability | Extrusion | Medium-pressure fluid hoses, protective sleeves |
Note: Grades and hardness are for reference. Custom hardness, color and melt flow rate can be adjusted according to hose structure and pressure rating.
Key Advantages of Polyether TPU for Hoses

- Hydrolysis resistance – suitable for humid, outdoor and wash-down conditions
- Kink resistance – maintains round cross-section during bending and coiling
- Abrasion resistance – longer service life compared with PVC or many rubbers
- Low-temperature flexibility – hose remains flexible at low ambient temperatures
- Good transparency – optional clear grades for visual flow inspection
Processing & Recommendations
These polyether TPU hose grades are designed mainly for extrusion of mono-layer or multi-layer hose structures.
- Drying: typically 80–90 °C for 2–3 hours before extrusion
- Melt temperature: around 180–210 °C depending on hardness and line speed
- Die and cooling: stable sizing sleeve and water-bath cooling recommended
- Structure: suitable for mono-layer hoses, TPU-TPU co-extrusion or reinforced hose with textile braid
Chemdo can help recommend grade selection and basic processing window based on your hose inner diameter, wall thickness and pressure rating.
