Applications

TPE robot-cable compounds are suitable for:

  • Light-duty robot cables — signal and control lines for small automation arms.
  • Drag-chain cables — medium-cycle bending paths in automation equipment.
  • Instrument & device cables with frequent movement and handling.
  • Flexible sheathing where TPU performance is not required (cost-effective alternative).

Applications of TPE robot and drag-chain cables

Typical Grades

Grade Hardness Key Performance Processing Typical Use
TPE-S Robot 85A 85A Flexible, smooth surface, low friction Extrusion Light-duty robot cables
TPE-S Robot 40D 40D Higher abrasion resistance, stable bending performance Extrusion Drag-chain cables
TPE-S Robot 45D Tough 45D Improved cut resistance and mechanical strength Extrusion Industrial instrument cables

Note: These grades support medium bending cycles. TPU is recommended for high-end (>1M cycles) robotic cables.

Key Advantages

  • Soft and flexible for repeated bending paths.
  • Medium-level fatigue and abrasion resistance.
  • Halogen-free, low odor, good surface feel.
  • Lower density and cost vs. TPU.
  • Available in matte or smooth surface finishes.
