World’s first PHA floss launched ！
On May 23, American dental floss brand Plackers®, launched EcoChoice Compostable Floss, a sustainable dental floss that is 100% biodegradable in a home compostable environment. EcoChoice Compostable Floss comes from Danimer Scientific’s PHA, a biopolymer derived from canola oil, natural silk floss and coconut husks. The new compostable floss complements EcoChoice’s sustainable dental portfolio. Not only do they provide the need for flossing, but they also reduce the chance of plastics going into oceans and landfills. -

What HDPE is used for?
HDPE is used in products and packaging such as milk jugs, detergent bottles, margarine tubs, garbage containers and water pipes. In tubes of varying length , HDPE is used as a replacement for the supplied cardboard mortar tubes for two primary reasons. One, it is much safer than the supplied cardboard tubes because if a shell were to malfunction and explode inside an HDPE tube, the tube will not shatter. The second reason is that they are reusable allowing designers to create multiple shot mortar racks. Pyrotechnicians discourage the use of PVC tubing in mortar tubes because it tends to shatter, sending shards of plastic at possible spectators, and will not show up in X-rays. -

Mars M Beans launches biodegradable PLA composite paper packaging in China.
In 2022, Mars launched the first M&M’s chocolate packaged in degradable composite paper in China. It is made of degradable materials such as paper and PLA, replacing the traditional soft plastic packaging in the past. China’s PVC exports remain high in the first half of the year.
